Dodgers Offer Furcal $39M Over Three Years

The Chicago Tribune picks up an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report (David O'Brien, "Furcal has new offer to weigh," 12/3/2005) giving us the latest update on the Rafeal Furcal acquisition quest. The Los Angeles Dodgers have offered Furcal just three years compared to the Cubs' five, but have done so at $13M per year instead of the Cubs' $10M per year. According to the report, "Furcal was leaning toward signing with the Cubs until" then. And, of course, the Braves remain candidates. "'As far as we know, we're still in this thing,' Braves general manager John Schuerholz said Friday."
