Check out what other programs mentioned "Wrigley Field" recently...

Looks like a Cubs fan helped out Tiger Woods earlier this year.

Mitre Back Up

The Cubs re-called Sergio Mitre on Sunday.

This has been somewhat of a disappointing season for Mitre. He has never had an ERA above 3.34 -- 2003 with West Tennessee -- in the minor leagues until this season's 4.33 with triple-A Iowa. That's almost a run-and-a-half higher than what he posted last season at Iowa.

Trib: Cedeno Has Good Shot at Starting Next Season

The Chicago Tribune's headline and beat writer Paul Sullivan's assertion -- "[Ronny Cedeno] figures to get a full-time role in 2006" -- is undermined by GM Jim Hendry's actual quote offered in support: "'We're very high on Ronny, and I feel if he continues to progress he has a very good shot at playing for us next year,' general manager Jim Hendry said."

That statement hardly means anything, and and is the kind of statement made by general managers all the time about young players who may or may not actually get a starting job the next season.

Moreover, without input from the man who actual makes the lineup decisions -- Dusty Baker -- it's impossible to say whether Cedeno is a "likely" starter next season.
