The Chicago Cubs announced today that they optioned pitcher Roberto Novoa to triple-A Iowa. Following his bout with valley fever, Novoa simply did not have enough time to make the club. The final roster spot appears to be down to relief pitchers Michael Wuertz and John Koronka.
