Cubs Garage Sale

The Cubs announced on Tuesday they will hold a garage sale at Wrigley Field this Saturday from 8a-4p.

The Cubs will be selling stadium memorabilia including authentic Wrigley Field bricks, bleacher benches and flags flown from the roof, scoreboard and foul poles. In addition, discounted Cubs merchandise, game-used equipment and autographed memorabilia will be available for purchase.

The day of the sale, customers can enter the ballpark via Gate D (at the corner of Sheffield and Addison) and Gate K (on Waveland Avenue). Parking will be available in the Green Lot, located at 1126 W. Grace, just north of Wrigley Field. Payment forms accepted are cash and all major credit cards. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cubs Care Charity.

Review of the Wrigley Field Garage Sale

I just got back from the garage sale, and it was totally crazy. I got there 15 minutes before the gates opened, and it was just packed once I got inside. I took some photos and wrote at length about everything that was on sale, and how to attack an event like this in the future. The post can be found at: Wrigley Field Garage Sale: The Complete Guide and Strategies to Finding your Cubs Game-Used Items.

Soldier Field loses landmark status

Saw a WGN Evening news report on Soldier Field losing its landmark status.
The video showed older footage of a bulldozer plowing thru and ripping up the seats at Soldier Field. I'm sure all the Cubs and Bears fans watching that thought the same thing - they should've removed them properly and sold them off at a Soldier Field garage sale.
