Can John Mabry Play First Base?

The Cubs and Drrek Lee have suffered a huge blow. Amid the sadness, I took a look at the Cub Roster and found that John Mabry, presently listed as an outfielder and used as a pinch hitter, is left handed and 6 feet 4 inches tall. Where I come from, that kind of physique makes him a candidate worthy of a try-out at First Base. Perhaps he had some experience there when in school. In any event, he is hitting relatively well so far, and given the need to find a substitute, maybe he should get a look.

Respectfully,
Fearless Bear

Mabry at first

Mabry has played 400 games in his big league career at first base, so he's no stranger to the position.
