Complaining about the Tribune
Complaining about the Tribune makes no sense to me. The Cubs don't fail to win pennants because of a lack of available resources.
The Tribune wants the Cubs to win
The Tribune wants the Cubs to win.
Not only from a personal desire, but as a company they benefit when the Cubs win.
For instance, the Trib owns WGN and a part ownership in Comcast Sports Chicago. When the Cubs are winning, more people are tuned in and paying attention to the game and the associated advertisments.
When the Cubbies win, more people watch the WGN 9pm news for the sports highlights, watch the Tribune show on Comcast and read the sports page in the Trib the next day.
A winning Cubs team is a good thing for the Trib's bottom line.

I'd be interested in knowing how the Cub's training facilities have changed since the Wrigley Field renovations. I think one of the main problems at Wrigley was the insufficient training facilities. Hopefully that was updated and greatly improved over the winter.
