Jones Rises
Five days ago, Jacque Jones was being booed at Wrigley Field. But here's how quickly things can change early in the season, given the small number of plate appearances. Jones went 3-4 in the Cubs' 6-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers today, with a double and a homer. That raised his season OPS from 641 to 781, an increase of 22%. Against righthanded pitching, Jones now has a 924 OPS. What brings him down is his 100 OPS against lefthanded pitching, albeit in just 10 plate appearances.
