Jackson Promoted to West Tenn; Burrows Released

The Cubs have promoted OF Nic Jackson to double-A West Tenn from high-A Daytona. Jackson was hitting .275/.375/.493 for Daytona. Jackson, now 26, only played a combined 14 games in 2004 and 2005.

On another note, the Cubs released pitcher Angelo Burrows, one of the two players they received from the Atlanta Braves for Todd Hollandsworth last year. Burrows, 25, had allowed 15 runs in 12.2 innings for Daytona this year.
