And So It Has Come To This

When Chan Ho Park retires from MLB, it's a cinch that he either (A) will not make the HOF ballot or (B) if he does, he will receive hardly any votes. And with good reason.

Consider his ERA's the past few years:

2002: 5.75
2003: 7.58
2004: 5.46
2005: 5.74

Also, coming into this game, Park had only 2 shutouts in his MLB record, the last of which came in 2001.

However, in a 9 Inning performance, Park looked like Cy Young against the Cubs. He gave up only 2 hits, 4 walks and registered 4 strikeouts. In those 9 innings, he threw 121 pitches. By contrast, Carlos Zambrano threw 107 pitches in only 7 innings in what was Big Z's best performance thus far this season.

Question: By the time that either Wood or Prior return to the Cubs, will the Cubs have succeeded in scoring even so much as a single run? After watching Chan Ho Park master the North Siders, you really have to wonder.
