Buddy Bailey Takes Over as Daytona Manager

The Chicago Cubs announced that Buddy Bailey, who had been serving as a roving catching instructor, will take over as high-A Daytona's manager for the second half of the season. Bailey will replace Don Buford, who will move to Mesa to work with the Cubs' rookie ball team. Buford will also serve as a roving fielding and bunting instructor. The move will apparently allow Buford to be closer to his family.
