Adam Greenberg Update

Ever since he secured his release from the Cubs farm system, Adam Greenberg has been tearing things up in the Dodgers system as a member of the Jacksonville Suns of the AA Southern League. As his statistics show Chicago's loss is Los Angeles's gain.

In 39 official At Bats, Greenberg has 12 hits for an average of .308. Greenberg has also shown some un-Cubs like plate discipline with an OBA of .391 and some power with a SLG of .487. Overall, his OPS is a healthy .878.

Greenberg has demonstrated that he is a better player than what Cubs brass thought of him being. Whether or not he will ever make it in MLB is unclear given just how stocked with talent the Dodgers farm system is. In any event, Greenberg's case is further evidence of just how poorly GM Hendry has run things.

Greenberg down to 764 OPS

One week after this post, and Greenberg has come back down to earth a bit. His OPS is now 764. He's also striking out once every three at-bats, which suggests that something still isn't quite back to normal with him.
