Dempster flops again
Dempster proves again what a crummy player he is. Last night was the worst of the worst. The Cubs finally get in position to take a lead into the 9th and Dempster blows the save, this time with a throwing error. You would think that Dummmy Dusty would try someone else, but no, his answer is always Dempster. Long past a time for change. Goodbye Dusty. You are fired.

Dempster flops again and again and again
How can this guy keep coming in and blowing games? Get rid of him.
Sox broadcasters
The Sox broadcasters are the most one-sided in the majors. In a game like today's on WGN, a little more fairness would be desired.
One-sidedness
I disagree. I don't want them to pretend to be impartial. Let them cheer for their team, as long as Len and Bob can cheer for the Cubs when they are broadcasting.
I agree...
... but I also think the Sox guys are the most obnoxious I've ever heard. Everything a broadcaster can do wrong, Harrelson and Lewis do:
- canned catchphrases ("you can put it on the board ... yes!")
- going out of their way to talk of their playing days
- frequent inattention to what's going on in the game, to the point of not mentioning plays at all from time to time
- blatant homerism, which is NOT defined as rooting for a team, but rather letting it affect your judgment (i.e., a borderline strike thrown by the Cubs becomes "clearly outside", close plays are criticized but the replay is conveniently not shown, etc.)
Really, the WGN broadcast yesterday was terrible all around. The balls/strike count was constantly wrong (I counted at least a half dozen times), and at least two plays were completely missed. And as usual, they constantly missed the first pitch of the inning coming back from the commericial break.
I think WGN's broadcasts have been slowly but steadily declining for years, and yesterday was the culmination of that. They really need to pay more attention to detail.
WGN
Yes, they are certainly obnoxious.
The missed plays by WGN were inexcusable. On one (a flyout to Pagan, I believe), the Sox broadcasters didn't even tell us what happened. We just saw Pagan running in and they go to a commercial break.

Since Arne Harris's death, perhaps?
