Prior to DL Following Failed Scheduled Bullpen Session

As The Cub Reporter notes, Mark Prior wasn't able to throw a bullpen session yesterday and thus will miss his scheduled Sunday start. The Cubs have placed Prior on the DL and recalled Ryan Theriot, reports the Chicago Tribune. Theriot was with the team earlier in the year, though for reasons never disclosed.

To answer TCR's question of "how 'The Beacon News Online' has a story about the bullpen session while none of the big papers appear to,' I'm not sure, but the Beacon News article actually comes from the Daily Southtown's Cubs beat reporter Jeff Vorva.

Prior on the DL? No wwwaaayyyy!

Big surprise here! The invincible Mark Prior's injury woes once again continue to bum me out. Yeah, yeah one day he'll be great. Meanwhile, Cub fans witness yet another meltdown. I'm not convinced he's worth all the heartache... but also see that the Cubbies wouldn't get much in return. Too bad about Tejada - guess he's just too darn durable for the Cubs taste!

another suprise

Too bad there isnt a way to dump the dead weight of prior and wood because now we are stuck with two has beens and we have nothing now. I remember getting ride of another good pitcher who if i remember is clement...o yeah he was ok too. Something has to be done about this and it starts in the clubhouse!!!!
