The West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx announced yesterday that a black, 9-month-old, pot-bellied pig will serve as the "Rally Pig" during the 2005 season. The press release states that the pig will be "ingeniously sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham Company and Café." Is it really ingenious for a ham company to make a pig out to be cute and cuddly?

The pig won't just start rallies, however. "The pig is also being trained to bring game balls to the umpire as well as how to run the bases."
