Zambrano Dominant Against Righthanders

A little bit of good trivia from Elias today. Following Carlos Zambrano's performance yesterday, righthanded batters are now hitting .147 against him this season in 258 at-bats. The last pitcher to hold righthanded batters to a sub-.150 batting average in a season in at least 250 at-bats was Jose DeLeon for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1989.

Zambrano actually has a large split this season. Righthanders have a 490 OPS against him; lefthanders 874, 78% higher. His split over 2003-05 was much lower: 619 to 680, or 10% higher against lefthanders.
