Bulls to Sign Griffin to 3-year deal

The Chicago Tribune reports that the Bulls are going to trade J.R. Smith to the Denver Nuggets for Howard Eisley and two 2nd round picks. They are then going to release Eisley to sign Adrian Griffin to a 3-year deal. I know Griffin started a good number of games for the Western Conference champions, the Dallas Mavericks, last season, but three years? For a guy who's averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds during his career? I know he can play defense, but the Bulls aren't exactly short of players who can play defense.
