Dopirak Hits First Homer of Year

Chicago Cubs minor league first baseman Brian Dopirak returned from an opening day broken foot on June 2. The player who hit 39 homers for low-A Lansing in 2004 (though just 16 for high-A Daytona last year), finally hit his first home run of the year yesterday in his 46th game, in AA West Tenn's 6-5 loss. (Hat tip: Chicago Cubs Minor League Baseball.) Dopirak is now hitting .258/.313/.344 on the year. It's a strange thing that Micah Hoffpauir has easily outplayed Dopirak and Brandon Sing this year.
