MILWAUKEE -- Greg Maddux won 133 games in two stints as a Cub, but few have meant more to the organization than the one he won Friday night as a Padre.
Maddux beat—and thus eliminated—the Brewers 6-3, allowing the Cubs to finally celebrate a National League Central championship after they had beaten the Reds 6-0 earlier.
Maddux pitches and Cubs win the division!
Yep, this isn't the way we planned it, but wow, that Maddux trade looks brilliant now, huh!
BTW, I checked the boxscore for the the PADRES 6, BREWERS 3 game and Michael Barrett isn't listed.
