Hawkins Is, and Should Remain, the Cubs' Closer

Scott Lange at The Cub Reporter effectively makes the argument that LaTroy Hawkins should remain the Cubs' closer, following yesterday's blown save:
So lets look at what Hawkins did. He got ahead of every hitter. He didn't walk anyone. He didn't give up any home runs or any balls hit all that hard. If he gets average support from his defense, Lee's fly ball ends the game a 3-2 Cubs win. That's not a poor outing. I just don't see a reason to conclude from that inning that Hawkins shouldn't be pitching in one-run ninth-inning games. . . . more

Al Yellon at Bleed Cubbie Blue reports that the Wrigley Field crowd booed Hawkins when he entered the game today. He promptly pitched a perfect ninth inning (in a non-save situation). The booing was inappropriate. Hawkins is the Cubs' best reliever, and it's much too early in the season to be this inpatient.
