everyone i know who hates the bears is taking their defense in the fantasy drafts. analysts are bashing the offense, but i think coach smith is being coy and deceptive as to their potential. people are used to a lackluster offense so why not lead them to believe that going into the season. i wish booker and others were still on the team. booker was always good for a pivotal catch, assuming orton or grossman could find him, and he wasn't double teamed. i hope our stable of backs can be effective this year as well. benson, and jones could each rush for 80 to 100 yards apiece in every game. that sound silly, but they are going to turn alot of heads, mainly LB's and DB's. maybe my passion for the cubs and bears leads me to "over eternal optimism". someone needs to come up with a new dance before the end of the season, the super-bowl shuffle won't cut it anymore, or will it? i almost forgot about griese, surely he can throw mor td's than orton. we still went 11-5. defense wins championships, offense [deleted by decency editor].
The first team offense had trouble scoring in the preseaon. Nothing like a good play-fake and a speedy receiver coming open downfield to change that. Grossman to Berrian. 7-0 Bears.
The Bears looked really good today, shuting out the Packers for the Packers' first scoreless game since 1991. Hester returned a punt for a touchdown. Grossman averaged 10.1 yards per attempt. Jones and Benson only averaged 3 yards a carry, and the Bears struggled to get touchdowns in the red zone, but the Bears sacked Favre three times and intercepted him twice. A truly enjoyable game to watch.
