Bad bottom of the 8th

Bad bottom of the 8th. Michael Barrett just had a serious mental error. Bases loaded, nobody out, following Leicester walking 2 and hitting a batter. Aurilia grounds to third; Ramirez touches third for the force, and then throws home where Barrett tags Randa for the double-play, but then Barrett throws back to third even though the force was already completed (which Barrett had to have known because he tagged Randa). The ball went down the leftfield line, putting runners at 2nd and 3rd.

In the end, it didn't affect anything, because Leicester promptly gave up a deep double to Jason LaRue, scoring both baserunners (though perhaps Aurilia doesn't score if he's on first to begin with).

This is the second of Leicester's four outings this year that he's had significant control issues.

Dubois should pinch-hit

Down 2 in the top of the 9th, with 1 runner on and 1 out. Neifi Perez up. This situation screams for Jason Dubois to pinch-hit and possibly tie it with a homer. Dusty Baker sticks with Perez.

Perez singles after Garciapar

Perez singles after Garciaparra went to second on a wild pitch, so what do I know.
