This Outfield Isn't Hitting
| Player | PA | BA | OBA | SLG | OPS+ |
| Cliff Floyd | 51 | .245 | .275 | .347 | 62 |
| Alfonso Soriano | 63 | .267 | .302 | .400 | 83 |
| Jacque Jones | 81 | .274 | .338 | .301 | 70 |
| Matt Murton | 40 | .270 | .325 | .297 | 65 |
| Felix Pie | 30 | .207 | .233 | .345 | 50 |
No other team in the National League, at least, doesn't have an everyday outfielder with at least a 100 OPS+. Perhaps it's time to give Daryle Ward (117 OPS+) a start. The kicker is that the Cubs' have a league-average offense (4.4 runs per game) and have outscored their opponents 88-81 en route to this 7-13 start. If the outfielders start hitting, this could be a good offense.
