This Outfield Isn't Hitting

The Cubs may have a logjam in the outfield, but it's the sorriest hitting outfield logjam there is. Entering today's play, here are where things stand:

Player PA BA OBA SLG OPS+
Cliff Floyd 51 .245 .275 .347 62
Alfonso Soriano 63 .267 .302 .400 83
Jacque Jones 81 .274 .338 .301 70
Matt Murton 40 .270 .325 .297 65
Felix Pie 30 .207 .233 .345 50

No other team in the National League, at least, doesn't have an everyday outfielder with at least a 100 OPS+. Perhaps it's time to give Daryle Ward (117 OPS+) a start. The kicker is that the Cubs' have a league-average offense (4.4 runs per game) and have outscored their opponents 88-81 en route to this 7-13 start. If the outfielders start hitting, this could be a good offense.
