Zambrano and Barrett Fight in Dugout

"[Carlos Zambrano and Michael Barrett] will be among the best at their craft when they can maximize their diamond knowledgeability while controlling their sometimes white-hot emotions." -- George Castle, Entangled in Ivy

Ron Santo just said on the radio that Barrett and Zambrano traded punches in the dugout after the Braves' 5-run 5th inning. Zambrano appeared to Santo to be the instigator.

Zambrano

Fighting aside, disastrous day for Z. 13 hits allowed in 5 IP, with no strikeouts. That is certainly not going to quiet the concern about his arm.

Zambrano's arm

No, it's not. I was hoping Zambrano had turned things around after his last outing, in which he struck out 8 and walked just 1 in 7.2 innings.

Who says the Cubs can't hit

Carlos Zambrano is one of the team's best hitting pitchers...just ask Michael Barrett.

Has anyone found a quote about this moment from A.J. Pierzynski?

From what I've read, he does watch the Cubs games...

I watched the fight on TBS. It is always interesting hearing what Chip Caray has to say about the Cubbies now that he isn't employed by them.

BTW, TBS is airing the Cubs/Braves game on Sunday.

I didn't see the entire game. I've been busy with that Star Wars marathon (all 6 movies in a row) on tv.

At least two of my favorite Cubs players had bad moments yesterday.

Does anyone wonder what Zambrano's birthday party was like?
