Minor League Roundup: April 23, 2005

Murton continues Bonds impression, Chirinos returns from suspension, and rain elsewhere.

West Tenn loses 5-3. Jae-kuk Ryu lost for the first time this year, allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. He did strike out 8 and walk only 1. Leftfielder Matt Murton had 2 hits, including his 3rd homer of the year. (He is, after all, Barry Bonds.) First baseman Brandon Sing went 3-4.

Daytona loses 5-3. Second baseman Robinson Chirinos returned from his drug suspension. He hit 9th and went 0-3 with an RBI. Leftfielder Kyle Boyer, who came into the game having started the year 1-for-27, went 2-4 with a homer and double.

Iowa was rained out in Nashville. Peoria was also rained out. They will play a doubleheader tomorrow.
