Curt Schilling Would Play for Cubs
Curt Schilling has filed for free agency and listed the Chicago Cubs among 11 other teams for whom he would play in 2008. (Link via 1060west.) On the off chance that the Cubs and Schilling would come to terms on a 2008 contract, Schilling would bring more playoff mojo with him than any Cubs' player has had since Orval Overall (36 innings, 4 runs allowed in the 1907 and 1908 World Series).

A-Rod Coming to the Cubs???
Has anyone heard about A-Rod coming to the Cubs? I hear Lou Piniella and him are good friends so I believe the rumors have some merrit. I always check to see what the betting odds are to see what they think. Even the bookies think A-Rod is has the best chance of landing in Chicago. I would love to see it happen and before to many fans go off check out these stats for 2007: 2007 Stats: AVG .314 | HR 54 | RBI 156 | R 143 | SB 24 | OBP .422. That's going to get you into the playoffs or the series. But, the rest of team has step up in the post series to win the games with his record of 8-59, .136 in post play since 2004...ugh.
