Fox Injures Elbow

April 26, 2005 by cubsnet

So much for the Chad Fox as closer idea. "Fox suffered what could be a season-ending—and perhaps career-ending—elbow injury," reports the Chicago Tribune. Although I can't say for sure, since I've never been a professional athlete nor portrayed one, this may be the case where 3 strikes and you're out would apply. There's always that part of an athlete that wants to compete, but Fox would be better off taking an injury settlement and moving on.

Of course, if it pays better to go along with rehab for this season, then do that and once the contract is up find other things to do with your life. Good points. A comeback is nice. Not doing lifelong damage to your arm just by avoiding throwing a few more innings of baseball is better.
