--------

MLB Baseball
Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs
9 WGN [Dolby Stereo] [Closed Captioned]
Mon, Mar 31, 1:00p - 4:15p
195 mins

Hey, since the games appear to be closed captioned anyway, how about using the finished captions file and make the game transcripts available on the web like the Larry King show does.

-------

10th Inning
9 WGN [Dolby Stereo] [Closed Captioned]
Mon, Mar 31, 4:15p - 4:30p
15 mins

If you're Tivoing/recording to vcr this game, I recommend adding a half hour or so to the 10 Inning Show, just in case the game runs over.

There was a game this week that went to the 10th inning. I padded the recording time by a half hour and managed to hear that the game would stay as a 10-10 tie just as the recording ended.

Of course, you can also check the channel 2,5,7 news reports and ESPN too.
I don't get in 2,5 and 7 so its not on my radar...

Check this page every week to know when the next Cubs games will be televised. It includes the listings for WGN, Comcast & plus, ESPN, Fox, TBS and even WCIU. Subject to change of course...

Note to Comcast: How about a Cubs live games only season pass using the schedule from the above webpage? As it is, only an ALL MLB season pass is available and my PVR just doesn't have the sort of hard drive space.

WGN radio audio on Cubs tv telecast

I guess WGN tv 9 ran into some technical problems and substituted the WGN-AM 720 game audio for a little bit during today's game. It was odd to see at first because the voices and faces didn't match up.

It did remind me that I'd like to see a separate audio program on WGN cable tv for WGN-AM 720. That way those who want to hear Ron and Pat can choose to do so without that delay issue. A big plus would be if they left WGN-AM on all the time, then those of us outside of the Comcast SportsNet telecast area could still listen in to the audio of the games via the audio feed.

This would be especially nice when the Cubs are on national tv and the play by play announcers are anti-Cub. I guess in this instance that wouldn't work because we can't get the cablebox to play video from one channel and audio from another...

BTW, I enjoy the reports from all of the WGN radio and tv Cubs game announcers - Ron and Pat, Len and Bob. I just think that it would be kewl to get in WGN radio as an SAP program on cable tv.

PS: I have this habit of listening to the Cubs games on a tv in a different room from the computer. As a result, I noticed the audio problems from this game...but not the video problems until I sat down to watch some of the Tivo'd game.

Here is Bob V.'s apology regarding the technical difficulties in the Cub's telecast. (From Bob & Len's Baseball Blog)

re: WGN 60th Anniversary program

It was fun watching this program. I was hoping to see a segment on the BJ and Dirty Dragon show that used to air on WGN, but that didn't get shown.

I'm hoping that WGN will re-air this program (and the Cubs one too) and perhaps also make these shows available on the internet. Perhaps they could also offer online the segments that didn't make the final cut of the program. Imagine those would be popular on Youtube.

Ideally, I'd like to see WGN get back into producing television programs like Bozo's Circus, BJ and Dirty Dragon, etc. and lose the CW affiliation.
