MLB.TV Not the Product It Was Last Year

I renewed my MLB.TV subscription this year. Unfortunately, it is not the product it was last year. It is missing one of its best features: condensed games. Here is a copy of a letter I sent to MLB Advanced Media:

To Whom It May Concern:

This is my second year subscribing to MLB.TV. When I renewed my subscription this year, I was led to believe that the product would be the same as last year, if not improved. However, there are at least two aspects of MLB.TV that are not being offered this year or are not currently functional.

First, condensed games have not been offered this season. Condensed games was the best way to watch games that I could not watch live because of your blackout restrictions. For instance, my favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. Many Cubs games occur during the day while I am at work. Additionally, I live in Iowa, within the blackout area for the Cubs, so I cannot watch them live even when they play at night. I greatly enjoyed the ability last year to watch the replay of the game at night last year in about ten minutes.

Second, last year it was possible to click a particular inning when watching an archived game, skipping straight to that particular inning. Your FAQ still lists that as a feature, here:

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/help/faq_subscriptions.jsp#q15

Your FAQ states:

To access clickable linescores:
Any linescore displayed within a page on MLB.com, whether it is from the Scoreboard page (accessed via the menu item at the top of the home page) or within a game article, will include clickable linescores. Simply click the score of the desired inning and a video window will launch. Log in to your MLB.com account to initiate the video.

However, there are no clickable linescores anywhere on your site.

In light of these limitations on your product this year, I am unlikely to renew my subscription next year. Your substitute of the two minute “Daily Rewind Game Recap” is not sufficient.

I attempted to submit this comment in the comment form on the contact page of MLB.com, but there was a 500 character limitation.

Sincerely,
