"Diamond Jaxx pitcher Rich Hill continued to carve up Southern League hitters on Monday night, as the southpaw fanned 14 batters in seven shutout innings as the Jaxx defeated Carolina, 8-2, at Pringles Park," the Jackson Sun reported yesterday. "Hill (4-1) used his fastball, curve and change-up to baffle Mudcat hitters all night as he extended his streak of not allowing an earned run to 27 innings. The last time Hill gave up an earned run was at home on April 25 against Montgomery."
