West Tenn shuts out, Peoria shut out, and Kelton homers in Iowa loss.

ICubs lose 8-3. Raul Valdez was wildly effective to an extent, allowing 2 runs in 5 innings while walking 6 and striking out 6. Jon Leicester (2 runs) and Russ Rohlicek (4 runs) were ineffective out of the bullpen. Rightfielder David Kelton had 2 hits, including his 5th homer of the year. Shortstop Ronny Cedeno continued his excellent year, going 2-3 with a walk.

West Tenn wins 1-0. Renyel Pinto threw 8 shutout innings, despite allowing 5 walks. Reliever Talley Haines pitched a scoreless 9th to earn his 10th save of the year and preserve the shutout. Brandon Sing, playing rightfield, provided the necessary offense with his 12th homer of the year.

Peoria loses 3-0. The Chiefs only managed 2 hits, and drew 0 walks. Starting pitcher Chris Shaver struck out 9 in 6 innings, while allowing 2 runs.

Daytona had a doubleheader rained out.
