The Chicago Cubs have selected lefthanded pitcher Mark Pawelek in the first round of the major league baseball draft, which began today. The Cubs had the 20th overall pick. Pawelek is a high school pitcher from Utah.
Baseball America is running a draft day blog. Also, The Cub Reporter has provided some excellent pre-draft coverage lately, which is definitely worth reading.
