1994 All-Star Game - so many Cubs
As I zipped thru the 1994 All-Star Game that was on ESPN Classics the other night, I noticed an interesting at bat.
Lee Smith pitching to Fred McGriff, who hits a home run over the head of Kenny Lofton.
That All Star team had a bunch of former/future/current Cubs playing in it.
Here's who I recognized with a Cubs connection. Did I miss anyone?
Greg Maddux
Lee Smith
Fred McGriff
Kenny Lofton
Jason Bere
Moises Alou
Rod Beck
Randy Myers
Dusty Baker
Don Baylor

Let me know if you find an All Star Game with more than 10 Cubs connections.

Fred McGriff
While checking out that All Star Game roster, I wondered if Fred McGriff hit his 500th home run yet.
This page lists him at 493. (ouch!)

Is he playing these days? It seems that some team should sign him, just to have something to celebrate when he hits # 500.

you missed...
Danny Jackson. In a way, I envy you; I would like to forget him, too.
Also, Joe Carter ... ditto.
Also
Doug Jones, who pitched in 28 games for the Cubs in 1996. To be fair, I had to look that one up to be sure.
