Just to tie up the loose end, Ben Grieve (known as "Tom Grieve's kid" here in Texas) has been optioned back to Iowa. This was a necessary move to make room for Jody Gerut on the 25-man roster.

As I've said before, I like having Grieve on the team as a late-innings pinch-hitter. Obviously, though, the Cubs do not, so what can you do?
