Spike's Maximum MLB has San Francisco vs. Chicago Cubs" listed for airdates Sat 8/6 9:00 AM and Mon 8/8 11:00 PM.
The team listings for this program haven't been very accurate lately, but go ahead and Tivo/record it on vcr and see what you get.

ESPN Cubs game blacked out again
I set the PVR/DVR to record ESPN HD at 6pm tonight. Just before heading out, I double checked to make sure everything was working okay...
Yep, the ESPN and ESPN HD channels had the Cubs/Astros game blacked out.
C'mon folks, we're in Illinois. We're not traveling to Houston to catch the game. We paid a subscription fee to get in ESPN HD and ESPN, they shouldn't black out the in state team's games. What's the point of having a HDTV and paying for $$$ cable/satellite service if the games for the local team are blacked out?

Yep, the Cubs game on ESPN and ESPN HD was blacked out again.
On ESPN HD they just freeze an image during the time of the game.
They must lose a ton of advertising revenue that way by not airing anything on that channel.
We'll see what happens on Friday.

At first I tried the cubs.com page since they show the standings built into the page there, but only down to the 5th place team for the wildcard and well, you know...
However, this page will show you the wildcard standings for both the NL and AL all the way down to the Royals and Rockies.

I would really prefer to watch this game in high definition which would be on ESPN since Comcast/WGN are not available here in HD. However, I imagine that it will probably be blacked out...again. This kind of thing makes me wonder why we bother subscribing to the HD cable package in the first place. Do I have to become an Orioles fan to watch my team in HD ?
