Murton Homers, May Only Have a Few Days Left
Rookie Leftfielder Matt Murton may have hit the first home run of his career in tonight's loss, and may be hitting .340/.419/.472 in 55 at-bats since his call-up, but he may also be heading back to the minors very soon. Jerry Hairston, Jr. is set to return from his elbow injury on Friday. Unless the Cubs decide to go to 11 pitchers in the two weeks before September call-ups, which is highly unlikely, Murton is the only position player who is really a candidate for (temporary) demotion.

Cubs playing Musical chairs...
What scares me is that another option would be one of my favorite players, so I'm not very happy about that possibility either.
For those who want to give their chess pieces names, here are the roster lists...

Cubs 40 man roster

Is this 40 man roster up to date? It shows Adam Greenberg still on the DL and a bunch of players have * next to their name which means that they're "Not on Active Roster". I thought Sergio was with the big team.

Greenberg and Mitre
Greenberg was activated, but last I heard, he was back in Mesa still trying to recover.
Mitre was sent down to Iowa the first week of August.
Leicester and Koronka
Leicester and Koronka also have a * by their names on the roster.
What are their stories?
Thanks.

They are both with Iowa, and,
They are both with Iowa, and, unfortunately, neither of them appear to be all that good.
