Novoa Pitching Well; Wuertz Not At All

Roberto Novoa is on a nice little streak. Since allowing three runs to Cincinnati on July 21, and including today's shutout inning in a loss to Atlanta, Novoa has the following numbers:

IP H ER BB K ERA
14.1 12 3 3 10 1.88

Well done.

In other bullpen notes, Michael Wuertz hasn't seen the mound in nine days. He's clearly been relegated to the role of pitching 2 innings in a lost cause game. It's a role he's filled well, giving up just 2 earned runs in 10 innings in August. His control still isn't very good (6 walks), but he has avoided the long ball.
