If you're traveling to Wrigley via the CTA, be sure to check out
www.transitchicago.com to make sure that your bus route still exists and to double check the directions someone gave you. :)

The CTA has been threatening extreme service cuts. According to today's Chicago Sun Times, the service cuts have been delayed until November.

It pointed out this Sun Times article which mentioned that...

" Having the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, formed to build U.S. Cellular Field, officially acquire Wrigley for as little as $1 and finance a restoration in the $350 million-range -- with work completed during several offseasons so the team wouldn't have to move out -- would be a dream come true for Blagojevich, a die-hard Cubs fan. Considering the state of our roads, schools, budget, etc., I’m not so sure the state would be such a great steward of that park, but she was right about Mother Tribune.

The company has added seats, cut lucrative deals with neighboring businesses, sold out just about every game, but they haven’t bothered to fix the basic infrastructure of their stadium - which is at the very heart of the franchise. No Wrigley, no Cub Mania. Yet the Trib has shamefully allowed the place to become a dangerous dump.
