Tribune Co. CEO Dennis J. FitzSimons is considering selling assets to prop up his company's shares, and that's got some wondering if the Chicago Cubs could go on the block.

I didn't know that the Tribune owned part of the Food network. According to this they also own 22% of the WB network. I wish they'd buy the G4 channel and turn it back into a family friendly Tech channel with shows like Call for Help, the Screensavers and the Money Machine.

Yeah, I doubt it too. It's a big cash cow for now (thanks Dusty!), and there's a certain amount of prestige in the board room when you own a major league professional team, with the NFL being the ultimate of course.

I love the careerbuilder.com commercials with the monkeys. Absolutely fabulous!

FitzSimons said attendance at home games of the Chicago Cubs is running at 99 percent. But he voiced displeasure with the company's baseball team, referring to its "unacceptable on-field performance." The Cubs have the third-worst record in the majors despite one of the highest payrolls.
