Today Illinois lawmakers honored the achievements of the 2005 World Series champion Chicago White Sox.

Team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, manager Ozzie Guillen and the trophy visited the House and Senate chambers.

In a House chamber decked out like a 10-year-old's bedroom in the heat of a pennant race, lawmakers cheered the World Series champion Chicago White Sox Wednesday.

Owner Jerry Reinsdorf and manager Ozzie Guillen were greeted by posters, pennants, Sox caps and towels, and even Republicans holding signs that read, "Ozzie for governor" after the South Siders ended an 88-year championship drought by sweeping the Houston Astros for the title last month.
