If the Bears had even an average passing game, they'd be almost invincible. As it is, they've won three straight without an offensive TD drive longer than 8 yards. That's almost literally unbelievable, especially with two of those wins being against good teams.
They're last in the NFL in passing yards per game, and second to last in QB efficiency. I don't think there's any question that Grossman needs to play when he's healthy enough to give it a go. He can't possibly be much worse.
Asked if the team might be tempted to change quarterbacks in a game if the Bears found themselves trailing rather than in their customary lead position, Turner answered in a way that supported Orton without absolving him.
For the record, he did not say no. Which, in NFL parlance, some could interpret as a vote of no-confidence.
"It hasn't come up, so we're not even talking about it," Turner said. "Kyle's made some plays for us, and [Sunday], not just him, was not a very good game offensively other than running the ball."
How exactly does that work? You can't defend your quarterback by saying that everything went wrong on offense except for the part that doesn't involve passing.
THE SIGHTS: At last Sunday's Bears vs. Packers game, 1985 Bears Super Bowl stars Jim McMahon and Richard Dent took in the game in the warm skybox of Loop Capital Markets' chairman Jim Reynolds, right on the 50-yard line.
Favre
I know the Bears have a great defense, but the Packers have Favre. Favre could be 95 years old and beat the Bears.
Bears 19, Packers 7
The Bears' defense is just incredible. If it wasn't, we'd be talking a lot more about how terrible the Bears' passing game is.

Incidentally, what does Ron Turner mean by this?
