The Cubs have picked up two tall lefthanded pitchers from the Golden Baseball League, an independent league in the southwest United States: Grant Gregg and Alex Perez. Gregg, 25, was the GBL pitcher of the year in 2005, going 12-2 with a 1.97 ERA, after spending two years in the Padres' minor league system.
