Juan Pierre
With these figures, there's a good chance that the Cubs will be able to keep alive their Andy McPhail-led streak of not proceeding through the arbitration process with their players. Juan Pierre presents the biggest gap at $1.5M, but it still seems likely that the two sides will come to some middle ground, especially if the Cubs and Pierre reach a multi-year contract.
arbitration
Well within the week the Cubs will settle with Ohman and Hairston (which might open some talks about inquiring about one of the Cubs 2B man) my guess is that both find something near the middle, ($625K & $2.25M respectively). Next will be Prior who will want some more press attention $3.6M or so. Zambrano is very prideful and will want to settle near his request and both sides will get sweaty Z $6.8-$6.95M area. Pierre fall the other way $5.5M to $5.75M.
Then hopefully along the way Derrick Lee will sign a 3 year extension.
