Cubs Sign Prior To 1-Year Deal, Avoiding Arbitration

The Cubs signed Mark Prior to a 1-year, $3.65M contract on Friday, avoiding arbitration. The figure was right in the middle of the figures submitted by Prior and the team. Prior had been scheduled to make $2.75M before he voided his contract to go forward with arbitration, which his previous contract allowed him to do. Four arbitration cases remain.
