Zambrano Signs for $6.5M

The streak remains. "Carlos Zambrano and the Chicago Cubs agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal Saturday and avoided an arbitration hearing," reports the AP. Zambrano had asked for $7.2M and the Cubs had countered at $6.0M. All five arbitration-eligible players have now signed and Andy McPhail's streak of never proceeding through an arbitration hearing is still intact.
