Everybody's Throwing Off the Mound

"Mark Prior threw 35 pitches in a simulated game" today, reports MLB.com. He will likely throw another simulated game later this week.

Also, "Kerry Wood threw 12 pitches off the mound" today, "and a bunch off flat ground," after having arthroscopic knee surgery just five days ago. That's great news. Jim Hendry initially said that Wood wouldn't even be throwing long toss until a week after the surgery.

Finally, Wade Miller--like Wood, rehabbing from shoulder surgery--is going to throw off the mound for the second time tomorrow.

Progress is being made all around and the Cubs could have an abundance of healthy starting pitchers within a few weeks of the opening of the season.
