Montanez Comfortable in the Outfield

MLB.com's Carrie Muskat profiles 2000 1st round draft pick (3rd overall) Luis Montanez. His 2004 switch to the outfield has given him a newfound comfort and hope. "The infield was frustrating me," says Montanez. "I was having throwing problems, and I just felt that going to the outfield would make me feel more relaxed and more comfortable and make it fun again. I wasn't having that much fun in the infield."

Montanez made his first appearance above A-ball last year, in his 6th minor league season, after a July call-up to West Tenn. He hit .268/.325/.379 in 45 games.
