Cub shirt in RedEye

Over the weekend, I had a chance to read an issue of the RedEye I picked up and they had a shirt for Cub fans call Century Peat 1908-2008 and It's Time. It was pretty funny and looked like a throwback. With the 100 year wait talk going on all year, I thought it was pretty cool. You can check it out at www.centurypeat.com.

replica of wrigley field under contruction in Freeport, Il.

On friday, aug. 25 , contruction started on a replica of Wrigley Field in Freeport, Il. about 90 miles west of chicago on route 20 just past rockford. It will be only 112 feet to center, 100 ft. down the lines, perfect for wiffleball, kickball, etc. Their 7-8 yr old Little League will be using it for games next spring. It will also be available to rent for $35/hr. for birthday parties, corporate outings, family reunions, etc. It will be free to use if not rented, like Field of Dreams. They got the real ivy from Wrigley, are using real brick all the way around, 9 ft. fence, the replicas of the scoreboard, foul poles, exact field layout, front entrance sign, dugouts, etc. Ron Santo and the Cubs have helped with this--it is a non-profit charity in a major park. the website is www.littlecubsfield.com.
