Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder, who gained national attention during spring training when he announced his decision to become a vegetarian, is turning it up a notch now that the regular season is underway.Upset about the Brewers' glorification of meat products during the nightly sausage race, which takes place between halves of the sixth inning during home games at Miller Park, Fielder has vowed not to field any groundballs or swing his bat during the sixth inning.

A friend and I used to go to the WLS-am studios in the old Stone Container building in Chicago. They had a window in the elevator lobby where you could watch the deejay's at work in the radio booth. Bob Sirott was one of those deejays we saw there way back when.

(One Cubs related book went into detail about the problems the Cubs groundskeepers have regarding fans who scatter their loved one's ashes at Wrigley Field. This comic strip reminded me of that chapter...)

The Forgotten Man in the Steriods Scandal
Submitted by cubsnet on Fri, 2005-02-18 11:21.To the editor in chief of CubsNet.com:
I’m sorry, but I have to state something that apparently no one else has noticed or had to guts to print. With all this talk of steroid use in baseball these days there seems to be one man consistently left off the list of the usual suspects:
