Walk-off homer from Aramis Ramirez Jun 29, 2007

The Tribune has a fantastic photo of Soriano greeting Aramis Ramirez at home plate Friday.

They should make posters of it!

Here's another one - this time from July 1.

What do you think? Safe or out...or not enough information?

Benefits of a bad year (Chicago Cubs)

Could someone explain the different ways that a team having an awful year can benefit from their record in the off season?

I see that in 2002, the Cubs finished with a 67-95 record. The following year, they went 88-74 and we Cubs fans had an exciting year.

What does MLB (Major League Baseball) offer poorly performing teams to make them more competitive the following year?

A Suggestion for John McDonough

I understand that John McDonough is a skilled publicist and also a man determined to get the Cubs into the World Series. I have a somewhat serious suggestion, dealing with banishing forever any hint of a curse on Wrigley Field.

I suggest Mr. McDonough locate a nice diverse flock of goats and let them graze at Wrigley during the World Series this year. He likely could raise money from people who want to get a front row seat to feed the goats, and presto!

Where do you think the the Cubs will finish in 2007?
