Tyrus Thomas
Skiles Fired, Myers Lasts One Game, Boylan Now Coach for Rest of Year
Submitted by cubsnet on Thu, 2007-12-27 21:37."Jim Boylan was named coach of the Bulls for the rest of the season, he's hoping to improve on Scott Skiles' 9-16 turn to start the season, and a Myers-led run that didn't have a chance to begin with, and somehow still ended up even worse than it should have been," writes Yahoo! Sports' Kelly Dwyer.
I thought Skiles had done a good job to turn a mediocre team into a good one the past few years, but his substitution patterns always puzzled me.
Skiles: Thomas Playing "Too Slow"
Submitted by cubsnet on Thu, 2006-10-26 13:58.Interesting quote from Scott Skiles in today's Chicago Sun-Times regarding first round draft pick Tyrus Thomas: "We're having a hard time getting Tyrus out of jogging gear. He can dunk the ball and jump around the basket. We know that, but the pace that he plays at is just too slow." (Emphasis added.) We know he'll have to pick that up to play for Skiles, especially on the boards and on the defensive end, where Thomas can most immediately help.
